Student Walk Out at Conestoga High School in Berwyn, Chester County Over Masking
Approximately 50 or more students walked out of school on Monday to protest the School Board’s continued requirement of students to wear masks. Media accounts focused on reports of threats, and racist and homophobic social media posts. A criminal complaint was made by one parent of student at the school alleging her child was the target by pro-mask student’s abusive threats.
Parent’s against the forced masking of students had sued the school district last year over the mask mandate focusing on religious exemptions to masking but lost the case. The school reopened today after a two hour delay for what school officials said was “to prepare additional supports for students.”
There is no Covid19 health emergency in Chester Co. nor in any surrounding county. Hospital ICU utilization is normal for the year despite the closure of serval health care facilities in the county due to corporate consolidations and the firing of health care personnel because of their failure to comply with Covid19 vaccine mandates.
