Chemical Spill in the Delaware-Are You Affected?

The Philadelphia Water Department gave an amber alert warning concerning drinking water on Sunday after Friday’s chemical spill at the Trinseo plant in Bristol.  The Spill is just North of Philadelphia in Bristol, PA and affects one of the city’s water treatment plants, Baxter.

To find out if you home is feed by the Baxter pumping and treatment station go to the Philadelphia Water Department’s locator.  Scroll down page.

It appears the warning is wholly precautionary but people within 2-3 miles downstream should determine if a water intake they use might be effected.  Levittown, just above the spill shut their intakes with high tide and didn’t report any extraordinary pollution concerns.
