How Philadelphia Achieved High Vaccination Rate for Health Workers
“Federal officials point to the city’s mandate as a success story and a shield against new Covid outbreaks at hospitals and nursing homes.”
The New York Times reports on Philadelphia’s mandate for health care workers. It cites the recent defeat of Medicaid and Medicare’s vaccine mandate but nowhere does it question the very dubious legality of Philadelphia’s mandate of an experimental vaccine, with no clear protocol for number of shots, by fiat order of the Mayor’s Office. The writer states that this has been a success, perhaps for Pfizer, but presents no evidence of a public health benefit. Furthermore it fails to mention the large scale abandonment of vaccine mandates at big companies and health systems across the country such as GE, 3M, Oracle, Verizon, Amtrak and HCA the largest hospital chain in America.
