Philadelphia Mask Requirement in City Council Meetings Exposed as Public False Information

Today in Philadelphia City Council PA Chapter president Vince Feldman armed with a letter of confirmation from Council President Darrell Clarke’s office, informed the Sargent at arms that the instructions they were given regarding the policing of the Council’s mask requirement were not correct.  There was never a mask requirement instituted for the chambers that led to seven months of bullying of members of the public by City Council security to wear their mask and also to wear it “correctly”.

Most members of City Council have not donned masks which often led to arguments with the sergeant at arms over uniformity of compliance for the mask “requirement”.  The PA Chapter placed a RTK request with Council President Clarke’s office asking for email exchanges with the Philadelphia Department of Public Health that discussed the establishment of the mask “requirement”.

However, Philadelphia is notorious for their violations of the Pennsylvania’s Right Know statute and Sunshine Act, and refused to disclose any email correspondences referencing this “regulation”.  However, Philadelphia will flood the RTK or FOIA requester with previously released PDFs of government published information to satisfy the color of the law.

It was from these City Council Weekly Reports that it was determined that there was never a Dept. of Health regulation requiring the wearing of masks in Council Chambers.  PA-CHD reached out to the Senior Legislative Counsel & Chief Ethics Officer Jessica Sanchez who confirmed that the act of masking was recommended and not an order.  Now PA-CHD will ask who was responsible for misinforming the public and Council security and why?
