Wallgreens overshadowing the CDC in Covid19 public data release
Walgreens, the ubiquitous pharmacy chain drug store has more than 9,000 stores nation wide. At more than 5,000 of these stores Walgreens offers RT-PCR testing for Covid19 (i.e.the Sars-CoV-2 virus). Walgreens has got very serious about tracking this virus and its variants even contracting with Aegis Sciences, a large forensic sciences laboratory testing company to do genomic sequencing as well as its PCR tests.
Walgreens has created a huge de-indentified Covid19 data base of Covid19 positivity segregated into unvaccinated, vaccinated, shot numbers and if that 2nd or 3rd shot was over 5 months old or less than five months and by age stratification.
What does this robust database tell us? One might imagine it is the job of the CDC to be informing all those inquiring minds out there. However, the most consistent result one finds is unvaccinated people have the lowest positive test results across the board.
Now one must ask why is it that across the country thousands of large employers are making their unvaccinated employees test while their, more likely, positive vaccinated co-workers are not.
A big question one needs to ask is why are 72% of Walgreens Covid19 test customers from the vaccinated cohort? Remember President Biden warned of “a winter of severe illness and death for the unvaccinated — for themselves, their families and the hospitals they’ll soon overwhelm,” Lets hope Walgreens doesn’t cave to industry pressure and take down this valuable platform. And CDC, it’s time to start showing us your data.
